The Bible

Book, late 20th century AD, Paper

This book is The Bible, which is the central text of the Maronite Church, as it is to the whole of Christianity.  The Old Testament, which is the first part of The Bible, is central to Judaism, and The Bible as a whole, including the New Testament, is also important to Islam.  This copy is in Arabic, which is used in the Maronite Church, although the major language of the church is Syriac.  The Bible is thus central to the life and culture of the village, and is regularly used in the church of St Assia.
