Cedar Wood Plaque
Plaque, Inv. No. TMA 1320/12/22, late 20th century AD, Wood
This plaque is made of cedar wood, and has a vertical piece in the shape of the country of Lebanon attached to a horizontal base. The vertical piece has three coloured images of Maronite saints, one female and two males, in circles, and a cross, whose outline is cut through the piece. The plaque not only showcases the beauty of the cedar wood, which is the tree for which Lebanon is famous, but also highlights the important images of the Maronite faith. The plaque is used by people of Lebanese heritage in Australia and elsewhere as a reminder of Lebanon.
