Kerosene Torch

Kerosene Torch, mid-20th century AD, Steel

In this kerosene torch, the flame comes out of the cylindrical torch at the top.  Kerosene is placed in the receptacle at the base and is poured in through the hole with a screw top.  There is a gauge with a retractable metal shaft to measure the amount of kerosene in the receptacle.  The handle has holes in it to prevent the overheating of the metal.  This was used in the village for a variety of purposes, including to stain firewood.
