Plate (Sahen)
Plate, mid-20th century AD, Steel, d. 13 cm
This steel plate has a projecting horizontal rim and a rounded body, which tapers to a circle of metal, surrounding a circular base. It was likely to have been manufactured elsewhere, and imported into the village. Steel plates, such as this, have a variety of uses in the village, including the service of food at significant cultural events. They are thus central to the social life of the village.
